ONTARIO WOLF HUNTING REGULATIONS In order to legally hunt wolves in Ontario, a hunter must first purchase a small games license. Labelling wolves under small game in Ontario makes in a non-requirement for hunter to take the meat after an animal has been harvested. Once a hunter has obtained his or her small games license, Ontario allows the purchasing of two wolf tags per calendar year. The wolf season runs September 15th to March 31st of the following year. During an Ontario Wolf hunt, it is illegal to party hunt for wolves. This means that even tho we can cooperatively hunt wolves together,  the hunter must attach his or her tag to the animal they themselves have shot. After a wolf has been taken, Ontario requires that an export permit must accompany the animal before leaving the province. Export permits are available at the MNR office in Fort Frances. Due to the fact, that in most areas on the United States a no charge Cities permit is also required to export the animal into the USA.
